Are you looking for a weekend getaway in South Florida and don’t want to leave your dog at home? Jupiter, Florida is the perfect destination! Below are my top 6 dog-friendly recommendations for planning your day trip or weekend adventure in Jupiter.
1. Jupiter Off-leash Dog Beach

The dog beach in Jupiter, Florida is one of the best dog beaches in South Florida because it stretches for 2.5 miles and you can let your pup run free off the leash. You do not need to purchase a special pass either for you dog and there aren’t any time limits specific to dogs, like many of the other beaches in South Florida. We were nervous to let our dog Rye Lee off the leash the first time we went, but Rye Lee stayed close and listened to our voice commands. It’s very entertaining to watch all the dogs play with and chase one another around the beach. The dog beach starts at beach marker #25 at Marcinski Road going north to beach marker #57 (at the Carlin Park property line). I recommend parking at Ocean Cay Park across the street because it has large lot and is free.
2. Brunch at Perk Tequesta Coffee House

From the latte art to succulents, Perk Tequesta is the ultimate instragammable coffee shop. Perk isn’t only about the looks; you won’t be disappointed by the coffee, wide menu and live music on the weekends. We saw singer/songwriter Sierra Lane perform on the day we visited Jupiter. You can sit outside on the covered patio with your dog.
3. Get Up And Go Kayaking – Jupiter

Book a kayak tour with Get Up and Go Kayaking in advance. The unique clear kayaks add to the experience because you watch wildlife swim under such as manatees and turtles. You can bring dogs up to 20 pounds on the tour with you. The kayak company asks you to bring a towel to put on the bottom of the kayak where your dog sits so that he doesn’t scratch the kayak. We had a great time on our tour and saw 5 manatees, a sea turtle and a starfish. The tours cost $55 per person.
4. Happy Hour at Blue Pointe Bar and Grill

After your clear kayak tour, stop over at Blue Pointe Bar and Grill that is next door to the spot where you launch the kayaks. Blue Pointe has an amazing outdoor seating area with views over the water and live music. You will feel like you are on a Caribbean vacation or at Margaritaville. I went for happy hour and recommend the Loaded Tater Tots, Piña Colada Shrimp, Bruschetta Flatbread and Piña Coladas.
5. Dinner at U-Tiki Beach Restaurant with Lighthouse view

U-Tiki Beach Restaurant has a large outdoor patio and allows you to bring your dog. It’s a great lunch or dinner spot. The outdoor seating has a great view of the water and of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse across the river. I took the above photo of Rye Lee at the end of the dock in front of the restaurant.
6. 3 Scoops Ice Cream

Try the cotton candy or birthday cake ice cream at 3 Scoops Ice Cream. There are plenty of outdoor picnic benches you for to eat your ice cream with your pup at your side. The ice cream shop is attached to Lighthouse Cove Adventure Golf and Burger Shack is next door.
