3 Super Tough Dog Toys for Super Tough Chewers

Are you tired of your aggressive chewer destroying the new toys you buy in less than an hour? Our dog Rye Lee is only a 20 pound cockapoo, but don’t underestimate his ability to find the weakness in any dog toy. Even the toys labeled as “indestructible” with special fabric layers, Rye Lee was able to tear to shreds. The below three toys have stood the test of time with Rye Lee. The added bonus is that with these three options you don’t have spend a lot of money to find a toy that lasts.

1. Chuckit! Ultra Ball

The Chuckit Ultra Ball is Rye Lee’s most used toy. He absolutely loves to play fetch with this ball. The ChuckIt Ultra Ball comes in a two pack, but we haven’t had to bring out the second ball yet. The small or 2 inch size of the ball is the perfect size for Rye Lee, but there are larger sizes if you have medium or large dog. The surface of the ball feels soft, but is a thick rubber to withstand aggressive chewers. The ball bounces really high, which makes the play more fun for Rye Lee. The bright orange color makes it easy to find in the grass or around the house. At a price tag of $5.24 for 2 balls, these is an easy to toy to justify adding to the toy bin.

2. Zippy Paws Skinny Peltz

The most durable tug toy I’ve found is the ZippyPaws Skinny Peltz No Stuffing Squeaky Plush Dog Toy (Fox, Raccoon, and Squirrel – Large). You can purchase this 3-pack for $10.99 on Amazon. I bought these plush dog toys for Rye Lee a year ago and all three are still in great shape. We play tug with these toys and also some fetch. The Skinny Peltz do not have stuffing, but they do have three squeakers inside. I am shocked that Rye Lee has never torn through the fabric to dig out the squeakers. I purchased the large size, but there is also a small size available that is not as long.

3. JW Pet Good Cuz or Bad Cuz

These Good Cuz and Bad Cuz Rubber Dog Toys from JW Pet are super tough balls for fetch. I like that they have feet because the toy doesn’t roll forever like a regular ball would. I also love that you buy the good or bad version; the bad having the devil horns added to the top. For Rye Lee, the 2 inch size is best. I purchased the red Bad Cuz for Rye Lee that is the medium or 3 inch size, but it’s just slightly too big for Rye Lee to comfortably hold in his mouth compared to the green Good Cuz we have.
